I've had many requests to talk about getting into the music industry . So for today's video, I share 10 tips on how to get from bedroom producer to getting your music on TV (or other similar goals, like film composing, producing for people, etc).  Here are the tips: 1. Write LOTS of music - Nothing is worse than having someone say “Send me some stuff” and you fumble the opportunity. Write it in batches. Do 10 cues of a style so if they like it you can send a batch of the same styles. 2. Get to know people. People are who run the industry, not youtube or soundcloud. You can meet people in person but you can also start with social media.  3. Put your music on Youtube and Soundcloud ! Have an online presense! If you don’t have a place where people can listen to your music, they will never give you a chance.  4. Attend a few conferences to educate yourself about what facet you want to go into. I plucked out he main theme on the keys and added in some dissonance and bent pitches to fit the bizarre spacyness of the track playing in my head. I added in the requisite synthesizers, a slight beat, and droid-esque sound effects . To wrap it in a bow, I took the original theme, reverse it, added effects and ended the entire track with the first few notes of the theme, as if it was some sort of sonic portal to present emitting from the trapped Morning Edition Martian Staff. Female:pressure, an international enclave of female electronica artist,  has launched an awareness and solidarity campaign for the cantons of # Rojava (located in northern Syria ), where women participate on all levels of decision making and building a new society from scratch, with built-in social, racial and ethnic justice, religious freedom, ecological principles and gender equality. Yet, even as members of female:pressure discussed how they as artists flung far across the globe could do more to help the Kurdish community of women, disheartening news of invasion and death brought about a discussion on the role of the artist in world events. After all, how could a simple soundcloud page with songs written by women who are not of the Rojava community enact real change when a global political tsunami hits?  And that is probably one of the greatest questions of the artist today.
