Did a Pulp Fiction Vampire Novel Predict the #Metoo campaign?

In the vampire political thriller (yes that's a thing) The White Lily Society: Miami Bloodlust, a secret society of women, led by a head vampire (who happens to be the Vice President) compile an underground list of predators. Unlike the lists that have come about in the #MeToo campaign, in The White Lily Society, this list becomes a hitlist of sorts, leading to mass murders nationwide.

While the #MeToo campaign took place in the last few months, The White Lily Society, with its bizarre and kinda pulpy look at sexual assault from a somewhat pro-woman vampirish perspective came out months before Weinstein's criminal acts led to an explosion of women sharing their tragic and often violent personal experiences.

The idea fomented in the mind of the author for several months, and originally the roles were going to be switched, but after the 2016 election, changes were made to reflect this brave new Trump world.

So does The White Lily Society predict the outrage that came out of the #MeToo campaign, and its followup #Timesup?

For those who have been wondering about the hiatus here at the New Music Resource, wonder no more! The past six months I have been working on a sci-fi machinima musical Libertaria: The Virtual Opera . Created almost entirely in the machinima software platform Moviestorm and scored with a catchy combo of electronic music, film scores, and dramatic vocals, Libertaria has been an incredible collaborative project. Moviestorm has been an excellent and inexpensive way to create an entire epic sci-fi tale for a minimal amount of resources.
