Vox Novus 60x60: Contemporary Composition for the 21st Century

What do you call sixty one minute works presented in sixty minutes? Some may call it chaos, others may say its semi-schizophrenic, but until you have experienced the eclectic sonic experience known as 60x60, you are missing out. The brainchild of composer Robert Voisey, Director of Vox Novus and an established composer himself, the 60x60 mixes give audiences the unique opportunity to explore new music in an eclectic fast-paced manner perfect for the 21st century audience. 

Each 60x60 mix is unique, and many performance are accompanied by contemporary dance or video. Several video artists have contributed their skills to the 60x60 video mixes, including Patrick Liddell and Zlatco Cosic.

60x60 mixes are eclectic musical microcosms of the world, with many regional mixes, international mixes, and the Athena Mixes, which feature music by women, and themed mixes like the Munich Mix on Oppression and Totalitarianism.


Branching into acoustic music, Voisey has already developed the 15 minutes of fame series, a unique take off of 60x6. In 15 minutes of Fame, composer write short works specifically for an ensemble or soloist. The collaboration results in a traditional recital that includes 15 minutes of new music. A recent recital even included works by child composers, a unique experience for both young composers and the audience.

Musicians interested in promoting contemporary music around the world can join Vox Novus by applying for free membership or participate by submitting to any one of the various 60x60 or 15 Minutes of Fame projects. There are no submission fees and works are selected through blind audition. There are numerous opportunities to become a part of this behemoth that has represented over 2000 composer's music all over the globe.
